Dr. Jeffrey Smoot, MBA, BIT

Dr. Jeffrey Smoot leads Elevate HTM’s efforts to educate parents, teachers, and students about careers in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM). As Director of Educational Partnerships & Community Engagement, he develops educational resources, conducts workshops, and builds partnerships with schools and community programs to integrate HTM into STEM and career readiness initiatives. His work ensures Elevate HTM’s mission reaches schools and families, equipping them with tools to guide students into healthcare technology management careers.
Beyond Elevate HTM, Dr. Smoot is the CEO of Interactive Healthcare Designs (IHD), leveraging Artificial Intelligence to drive healthcare innovation. He is also a Professor and Curriculum Developer in Biomedical Technology at MiraCosta College, shaping future HTM professionals. His past roles include Senior Technical Trainer at Medtronic and Business Systems Analyst at Baptist Health Kentucky, where he specialized in Enterprise Cardiology Systems integration with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
A Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) with expertise in Agile Methodology, Dr. Smoot also holds a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Passionate about education and technology, he plays a key role in preparing the next generation of HTM professionals.
